How do you distinguish male or female JD

From what I have noticed the females are always darker then the males and there Dorsal fins are rounded. But that is what I have always noticed I could be wrong some one will post more info if I am wrong the best way is to vent them tho to be 100% sure tho

Females will always have a blue "beard" that makes them easy to tell apart from males:

Also, males will have much more spangling in their bodies. Here's a side by side comparison showing the beard and body spangling:

That's why I said I could be wrong and i could be so I admit it lol but hat is from what I have seen in the jd I have owned tho

Are you asking about Electric blue Jd's or plain Jd's? Your title asks about 1 while your first post asks about the other.
 
EBJD are impossible to tell apart unless you vent. My bad, I just read the title and not the post so I thought u were referring to regular JD.
