How do you filter a octopus tank?

i hear they are great at escaping, do you use an overflow or a canister filter ?

I'm not saying that octopi dont try to escape but I never had problems with them trying to do so and I used hang on and wet dry filters with overlows on different ocassions.

No,I haven't kept saltwater for quite a few years now.

Years ago in the 90's had a Octopus which crawled into the over flow so I suggest using canister filters. Octopus are very intelligent curious creatures. They will investigate every inch of their aquarium lol.

One little fellow I had would climb up to the water surface and just raise it's tentacles out of the water and wouldn't go any farther,I observed it do this several times.It must have sensed that doom was mere inches away lol.It would even squirt water at me and tug at my fingers.
