Do you tie them on their with fishing line until the attach or what?

just wondering bc I am getting my first live plants today... 2 things of water sprite (I have real low lights) and I might pick up some java fern and put it on one of my rocks but don't know how lol

sorry for the newb question

i usually tie fishing line around them and leave them for a couple weeks and then just cut the wire and it stays like that, but not all plants do this

Cut the roots back to 1/2" long (leave the rhizome intact), and attach with cotton thread to the rock/wood. Leave it there, and it will attach itself, and the thread will deteriorate.

I usually tie mine down with fishing line. I have a large variety of fishing lines and just choose one of similar color.

About the cotton thread. I used that to tie down my java moss and the thread has yet to deteriorate after 3 months.
