well i'm selling all my fish redoing all the tank what and how often do you guys feed your discus i would liek to do a nice planted 75g with dicus clown loachs and tetra so what should i feed? thanks :)

4-5 times a day........Frozen Blood Worms, California Black Worms, Tetrabits color bits. If you're going planted buy adults feed 2 times a day and enjoy.......juvenilles (smaller than 4") go barebottom until they grow up

i fed mine everyday.... pellets, bloodworms, mysis & brine shrimps, spirulina flakes etc.... i do a very varied diet when possible...

Oh, and I'm not saying you can't raise juvies in a planted, you'll just have an easier time with cleaning a barebottom. I'm doing juvies in a planted right now and they're growing fine. I do 40% water changes every other day on a 125 gallon tank.........I've got a fluval 405, a large sponge filter, and an AC 110........Ph of 7.2, temp is 84, straight tapwater, no RO

ok well i gonna go with a 75g would 20% water chages every 3days begood or do i need more i have never had them before and i know some but not too much thanks

not enough in my opinion. Most folks growing them out will do 50% to 90% a day. what type of filtration and how many fish are you looking to do............

here's my 125

Hi your idea of a 75g planted discus tank sounds great I used to keep and breed discus and i had 4 adults at around 7" and 2 juvies around 3-4" in a 30g tank with fluval 205 external filter and a sponge pre filter changing the water 20% once a week and cleaning the filter monthly, temp was 28-30 degrees with a PH of 7.0 feeding once a day on tetra prima & blood worms NEVER BEEF HEART!!!and the adults used to breed readily. Hope this helps

i did one 25% change on my tank every week and mine were thriving till a heater failure and ich took them out...
