How do you guys think this would look?

I don't think I've seen this done before, but what are everyone's thoughts on a bare bottom 3D background tank?

It's way easier to clean for the waste my monsters make. I have the congo by designs by nature.

Any input?

I'd get rid of the plants they look a bit to neon for my taste but nice tank either way

depends on how clean the background looks along the bottom of the tank. Personally I don't like the look of bare bottom tanks but understand the logic, have you thought of a reverse flow undergravel filter with a fine gravel. When I had gravel I felt that it would grind the waste into smaller pieces, the ug will push the waste out of the gravel and into the water column so that it gets picked up by your canister.

I always found a ton of sand in my FX5. I didn't want to risk breaking my filter.

And yeah the plants are a little too green. Didn't think theyd be that bright. And I'm not a fan of undergravel filters : /

I have no idea how it would look, but try it, you can always put gravel back in.

Do you think tile/slate might look ok with it on the bottom? they would keep it pretty easy to clean (as long as you sealed them so nothing can get under). I've never seen that combo either, but it's a thought. I've also never tiled the bottom, it might be tougher than it looks.

With such a nice 3D background, going bare bottom may look weird and take away from your natural look you evidentally wanted hence the BG. All for the sake of a little maintenance, I would say don't do it! Your tank has a soothing look as is!

I'd keep the sand and the rocks, but like others have said get rid of the plants

Haha thanks for the input guys. I'd be willing to bet putting tile in is harder than it sounds. And after taking out some decorations it does seem like its going to be easier to clean. I still have the gravel though. I might just buy a 1/4 or 3/8" pvc tubing to siphon stuff up since it picks up everything.
