She is selling a 15 in. silver arowana and asking for any offer. So I low ball her for $20. She reply 'NO?" (exactly upper case, so she was yelling back, right?) ans bla bla that lfs is selling fry for $70.
I know I was not perfectly right to low ball her, but over $70 for a 15 inc. silver arrowana when she sounds desperate to sell? By the way, the lfs Jojo Aquarium is selling 5-7 in. for $26.
So, what would you suggest to tell her?

Below is her ad.

have a silver arowana, approximately 15 inches... i believe... out grown the tank i have, need to get rid of it...
if interested, please email at ritashycha@yahoo.com
will consider any offer made.

i would ask her what store near sac is selling silver aro's for $70+?? she might be bluffing. im in davis and frequent a majority of the aquarium stores within 30 miles. i don't think its capitol, exotic, o street, aquaworkz, or jo jo's.

the only store i can think of would be paradise, but even then i haven't seen aro fry's going for nearly that much there.

she mustve gotten a lot of offers and now thinks it is worth a lot more than she initially did

6th ave aquarium in san francisco sells 4-7" silver aro's for 19.99. amv123, a member here and a friend, has one from 6th ave for that pirce

I would never propose an offer without seeing the fish first. Once you are there and have shown true interest then make an offer and negotiate. You need to at least give her what a fish store would be willing to give in trade, generally 50% of retail.

People that lowball fish/items I have for sale won't even get a courtesy response from me.
