how do you make drift wood sink? i bought a few pieces of drift wood and they dont sink to the bottom of the tank. should i tie sinkers on it so it will stay on the bottom and absorb all the water? or what should i do?
If you dno't mind it floating around for awhile just let it go. and it should sink over time. but if that bothers you you can do a few things.
tie it to the ground like you said.
Submerse it in a tote of water so you don't have to look at it as it floats.
but some driftwood just will not sink. I had a piece that was in water held down for 6 months and it never sank I ended up tossing the piece. and it was a big piece. I thought it would sink easy.
When i buy driftwood i let it soak at the top for a couple days than it eventually sinks, it only takes a maximum of a week, bigger pieces longer. My giant danios low it when i buy new driftwood..
