heres how i do it!


100 gallon= turtles and bluegills

every 2 weeks= water change
feed every day
filter matnience when needed

20 gall= fish

every 1.5 months= WC
feed every day
filter matnience every 2.5 months
​

20 gall= Fire bellied toads

NO water changes
feed every 3 days
filter changes every 2 months
​

10gall= fish

every 1.5 weeks= WC
feed every day
filter changes 1 time a week
​

5gal= toad

NO wc
feed every 4 days
no filter
​

5gal toad

same as above
​

2gal= spring peeper frog

same as toad



please dont comment on how little filter maintenance i do. all my tanks are clear and have no ammonia or nitrate problems

Doing no water changes on the toads isnt the best for them.


But I work 5 days a week, the two days I'm off I do water changes of half my tanks, the other day I'm off, the other half gets changed. I check my filters every water change and usually end up rinseing the sponges.

I try to every week do wc's on my 65, 50, 30, 10 and 5 tanks. sometimes its more like every 2 weeks. Everyone gets fed every day.

Automation. I couldn't do it (right now I'm not) without my auto water changers. Four of my tanks have auto water changers and are maintenance free or low maintenance. My other six have been suffering lately.

Manual water changes once every week or week in and half depending on my class schedule and when my days off from work falls. I have a 125, 90, 75, 29, and 20, and they get done all at once. usually takes two to three hours.

put on sportscenter or a hockey game and get it done during the duration

hehe..i walk around everyday and feed every tank
i drain each one 25-30% on weekends
and my turtle tank gets WC when needed
