I just purchased an acrylic 550 gallon tank, but not for the use that everyone here is so well aquatinted with. See, I'm am mermaid performer and I wanted to take my show on the road via tank. The tank is 8' x 3' x 3' and 1" thick. Its pretty awesome and I'm looking forward to getting it ready but my biggest problem is that the previous owner had it custom made with seven 3" diameter holes drilled in it for the filtration setup (I'm assuming) So I need some help from you lovely people. Does anyone have any recommendations to help this mermaid out?

or use weld-on and glue a piece of acrylic over each hole.

My only concern with bulkheads the fact that they stick out. I can't have anything jagged or pointy that could rip my tail =/

Gluing acrylic may work. Would it hold up when the tank is filled?

Yes if you use the right glue.
