how do you remove coral from rock ?

i bought some corals last night and i didnt notice then but the corals were splitting and now i have 2 side by side, how would i go about removing one and transplanting it to another spot in the tank?

depends what type of coral you're talking?

Soft coral? Hard Coral? If its a mushroom, paly, or zoanthid, and its not on a plug you maybe SOL. Really hard to get a clean cut on those guys and if you dont you just end up getting three where you cut off one.
