How do you remove fish waste from an indoor pond?

Build the pond on a slightly raised platform and install a "bottom drain" style filter intake that's commonly used on outdoor koi ponds. The filter will draw water & gunk in from the bottom of the pond thereby eliminating the settled gunk.

A common pool or pond vacuum will work. There are models that can work on either the intake or outlet of your filtration system. You can get a model to either pull the waste and water into your filter or choose a type that will blow water/waste through a filter sock that will trap detritus and allow water to re-enter your pond.
