how do you sex jags

i love my jag to death its like a lil dog i keep in a glass case underwater without it dieing , but i wana get it a female , at first i thought it was a female but alota ppl say it looks like a male , well ive named my jag borris and i wana find a female for him , but how do you know what the sex is ? can anyone please explain this to me like an idiot so i can finaly relize what im looking for when i go get a female. thank you.

its hard to say with jags,
usually the shape of fins and head is when gets it for me.
males also tend to have mor striking color patterns

body and head marking patterns.

shadeing of colors- females ussally have light coloration- depending on origin of collection (WC niceraguan or feral caught florida jag females tend to have this and are very easy to sex) where as many LFS jaguars breed over many generations (not F0,F1,F2). are harder to tell.

females have a differnt head shape- ussally rounded, where as males are elongated.

and if you have to- fins, not always accurate but females tend to have rounded fins and males have more pointed fins.

depends on fish and the sexers knowledge, some 3-4" some 7"ish.

depends on origin aswell (ease of sexing)

you can tell at about 3 to 4 inc the anal fins will come to a point not round

not accurate at all, some people say it is, but it most certaintly isn't the only way you should sex a jaguar by.

colors are probably the most distinct was to tell i agree
with XR.
also the head tends to be much more rounded on females as stated.
smaller females tend to be lighter in color and usually are gold.
