arlington heights, il
As some of you may know, I'm in the process of building my new home. My goal is to have tanks in every room of the house. Looking at the blueprints, the hallway seems to be the only one with one....

So, I've purchased a 6*10 sheet of acrylic, which will allow me to build a 20*1*1 aquarium that will spawn the length of the hallway.

My question is, what kind of fish would appreciate such a long tank, but wouldnt mind the height?

20x1x1? not much will even like that, any chance on doubling up on width n height? or atleast width.

throw in like 3k tetras or something. tons and tons of tiny non growing fish.

thats a unique idea! if u cant add up od depth or height thats too bad...
but u can make that tank a very nice planted tank with lots of mixed tetras, cory doras and/or shrimps.

yeah basically only small fish unless you want to boost up the width of the tank.

that would be way better.
put some braces every 2'or so to stop it from bowing

bala sharks
any chiclid
silver dollars
FW barracuda
heutia (spelled wrong i know it)
bichirs
MAYBE a jar? ask the more aro oriented peoples
a lot more kind of cats.

lets not forget that 1 foot is the same depth as most 55.

but that is the turning radius for the fish. so i don't feel anything big would be happy in it too. but i think if its along the wall why not make it taller?

if these are the meassurments you have to stay with I'd go along with the tetra plan or maybe angle fish. they won't grow to big if they don't have the room.

or a demisoni

Get a large school of Silver dollars-sure they'd get spooked by hallway traffic, but at least they'll have room to swim down the 20' hall.

They don't get huge and would like the length of that tank.
