I have Green Sunfish, a Longear, a Pumpkinseed, a Bluegill, a Yellow Perch, a White Sucker, Black Crappie, Sunfish (unknown) and just picked up some nice Red Eye (Rock Bass).

The Red Eye are in quarantine right now since I am treating the others due to getting alot of scrubbing, flashing and head shakes (minnows were bad I think)

All in all everyone gets along, and I am wondering how everyone would get along with the Red Eye.

I will post pics of everyone in a few I need to take some.

What size tank are these guys in? What size are your current fish and what size are the Red Eye?

Depending on how long the other fish have been housed together, they may not be happy with the introduction of new fish. If they've been together for awhile, I would take all of them out and completely rearrange the main tank. Then put all the fish(including the Red Eye) back in at the same time. This way, any old territories are gone, and all the fish start at the beginning with each other.

Out of all my sunfish, I would rank their aggressiveness from least to most in this order: pumpkinseed, green, red breast, bluegill.

Well they are all similar in size, excluding the Crappie are 1" or so.

The aquarium is too small, its only just over 40g but I am looking for something larger I can afford.

Your fish seem to be different than mine, I really have no aggression, I did previously, but I had a LMB in there which was making everyone mad, at that time the Longear was the most aggressive, then the Pumpkin, everyone else hid, now there is no aggression.

For some reason I cannot upload pics :irked:

If possible, I would wait to add the Red Eye to the existing stock until you acquire a larger tank. While I think slightly overstocking can help spread any aggression around, I think your current tank will be too small for all of them. Unless all your fish are approximately 1" in length. Or maybe I misread...

None of my current sunfish are aggressive to the point to beating the crap out of the other fish, some are just bigger bullies than the others. My green male could care less about other smaller sunfish, regardless of what kind they are. Larger sunfish are occasionally chased out of his space, but no real violence. My pumpkinseed doesn't care about anything but will occasion halfheartedly chase one of the smaller ones away. And when I say halfheartedly, I mean it. LOL My smallest bluegill (2.25") is definitely more of a bully and enjoys tormenting a red breast of similar size. I do have one bigger red breast that is on the mean side and I think I will be finding a new home for him. He is also shy and tends to hang out in a dark corner and jump on fish as they swim by.

I think I will be eliminating the bluegills and the larger red breast, and obtaining some smaller (less than 3") greens as replacements. The greens are my favorite, and the pumpkinseed and red breast are just there for some color.

No you didnt misread, its too small.

I have 14 fish in it now!

I think the biggest is 4.5".

They were all to be used as Pike bait but for some reason when I dont use them and they come home they become pets.

After they are here for a couple days I just cant send them to their deaths and I guess they cant be released.

I have a darn Crappie thats 10-11" in my other tank he was gonna get eaten but...... :jaw-dropp

I hope you plan of getting a big tank real soon. You are going to need 180 gallon minimum with that stocking. I can't imagine how cramped they are in their right now. What are you using for filtration in that sucker. Your nitrate must be going through the roof.
