I've had these white worms for over 4-5 months now, i have hundreds of them in my tank. They say it's harmless planaria and less feeding and more water changes takes care of it, but I've done that with full force and they still dont go away. Anything else I can do? I'm open to resorting to chemicals to take them out, its an eye sore.

extra filtraion... maybe ur fish is exceding ur bioload... alotta people make this mistake raising mutiple flowerhorns in divided tanks. messy fish sometimes need twice if not up to three times the recomended filter size. my 1 male fh has 2 whisper 60 runnin in a 55. extra filtration can never hurt..

Planaria is natures way of trying to right the imbalence. You should thank the planaria for trying to help you because without them there would be that much extra uneaten food spoiling your water with no visual clues your doing something wrong. Your fishkeeping philosophy is slightly back to front although understandable. Planaria are GOOD. If you see them then you are overfeeding. Do you gravel clean?

Feed less. Perhaps you have already reduced by 50 percent but you are still overfeeding. Just because the fish eat the food doesnt mean it is being consumed. If you overfeed, it will just go straight through them mostly undigested and is still going to spoil your water. The biggest killer of fish is overfeeding and most fishkeepers will fast their larger fish for at least one day a week. I feed my carnivorous fish twice a week in small amounts.

What fish do you have and what food do you feed and how much do you feed?

The main cure is water and tank cleanliness, no leftovers means no planaria. There are a couple of meds you can use such as copper sulfate or pottassium permanganate, but I do not recomend them.

Dont use chemicals, just double your cleaning routine and feed less. Also you could be overlooking something, when was the last time you gave your filters a cleaning? Or cleaned under/inside decorations? Small things like that.
