Here's a weird question for everyone- when good clownknives go bad, how does one punish them?
Mine is not really bad, just acting up lately. He corners the poor pleco, steals ALL the food, invades other's space because he is too curious about what could possibly be going on inside a castle that is way to small for him ( he squishes his head up and tries to go in sideways, even to the point of marking his beautiful head in a vain attempt to find something interesting in there) nibbles on his tankmates, good thing they are too big to fit in his mouth, and other such nonsense.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore this fish, but I am wondering if there is any way to get him to behave better? Since he turned 18 ( inches) his personality has changed, I think you have all read my previous thread about bloating, now I see that it is just plain greed, he eats all the food, and then has a belly ache for about a day, finally shrinking down to his normal size to start the whole thing over again the next time I drop the magic algae tablets in for my poor 10" pleco.
Anyway, just wondering.....any suggestions?

The solution is not to punish a fish but to punish the aquarist :irked: :irked:

Your knife needs a bigger tank, with larger caves and more robust tankmates that can take care of themselves

Thanks but he just GOT a bigger tank, about 4 months ago. I agree I'm most likely at fault somewhere along the line, maybe moving the tank mates is a good idea.

Definitely give it some more hiding spaces that it can fit in. That might help. Other than that...you might need to put it in a tank kof it's own.

Don't punish your poor fish, lol. The only one who should be punished is you, you obviously need a bigger tank for it, and hiding spots. Also get more assertive fish, like oscars or other big cichlids.

take him out and magenify glass him. j.k. he probebly just is wanting more food or hiding places.
