In a 4ftx2ftx2ft running 2 established oversized external filters..

2 x Sevs (male red spot and female rotkeil)
1 x Nic (female..already own her, fully grown)
1 x Angel (female...already own her, fully grown)
3 x Tapajos (red heads)
5 x Tiger Barbs (normal type)
3 x Silver Dollars (left over from old monster tanks)
2-3 x Platys (bright blue and bright red)
1 x Bristlenose Plec

I also have a 1" Female Convict i might dump in there.

I want a tank thats bright and colourful from a distance and full of character.

Decor is play sand, blu background, fake plants and lots of wood.

Nothing seems to bother with the Angel...in my old set up i had a Angel pair with Tiger Barbs, 2 Sevs, Geo Brasiliensis, Oscar, Convict and Green Terror and they never got touched then either. (all adults)

The only thing i noticed is they tend to not get enough food...aggression wise they are worse than alot of others lol!

So on topic...do you think the tank is over stocked? i want it like this full term.

I love over stocked tanks ha. But I dont think thats really an over stocked tank. Its stocked thought, I didnt see the platys, that could end up being a problem.

I just like the Platys because they are bright colours...i havent bought any yet.. in what way do you think they will be a Problem?

My mate has Swordtails with JD's and Yellow Labs and they work pretty well as dithers...not sure about Platys tho as they are smaller.

Platys arent as fast as swordtails IMO. From My experience with nics, especially Females they get really aggressive. I have to get rid of my 4 because the were picking my 10" ID shark, 10" delhezi, and 12" pleco. Those platys might not stand a chance. Try giant danios, they work wanders in my tank.

Not really got the room for them, otherwise i would.

I might give it a go, see how it goes, my nic is pretty agressive at times to my tapajo but not to anything else...i'll just play it by ear, thanks for the advice mate :)

I would only do one of the sev's for two reasons:

1) If they pair, they will take over half of the tank easily, perhaps more ... pushing the nic, angel, and 3 geo's into a space less than 2' squared.

2) If they breed, you'll have hybrids and sp. Rotkeil is already being watered down with efasciatus blood way too much.

Other than the sev pair, the nic would be the one to watch ... especially with the geo's ... a someone similiar body shape might cause aggression. But if the nic is mellow with the geos, everything else should work once you cut down to 1 sev.

I agree with you, But I doubt they would be able to pair off if that nic doesnt give them a chance. They are kinda nasty fish.
