Just out of curiosity how does your bamboo shark act? Mine seems to hide most of the time. I've seen him late at night swimming around. Kind of boring. It'd be nice if he swam around more often.

I am not knowledgeable enough of the species to say it is normal, but I have two healthy bamboo sharks and they hardly ever come out from hiding during the day, unless I am feeding them, they do swim around for an hour or so each night though. they definitely are not the most active sharks by any means. lol

mine swims around more often then other sharks i guess. he comes to the glass when i'm there(prospect of food)

Most bamboo species are nocturnal... so hiding during the day is 100% normal behavior for them. In the wild, during the day you'll find them hiding in cracks and holes in the rock.

Zoo, I was thinking of picking up a horned shark next week to add to the tank. I heard they were a lot more active. What do you think?

What kind of horn, what temp range? Usually bamboos are more tropical in temp, and horn sharks are cooler water animals.

Not sure on the exact species. Right now the temp is at approximately 75-76 degrees.

I added more live sand yesterday. The bamboo shark has been a lot more active. He's even been coming up top to feed now.
