My RBPs go berserk once I turn on the light. Afterwards, they calm down and stay very still.... Is there a way I can train them to get more comfortable with the light on ? Let me know how ur piranhas react and how you got them to understand that light is only their friend! Haha thanks

Before i turn on my tank lights i tirn on the room lights. Let them adjuat to that. Then flick on tank lights. Gives them a sort of slow sunrise

The LED's look awesome... I have them on my 220. However they won't help at all with the problem your having with your piranhas freaking when the aquarium lights are turned on. My Dorado still does that though my cichla do not anymore now that they are bigger.

Yeah, I'm having a similar problem...i moved my eartheater and TSN to a bigger tank and now they seem "stressed" due to the light...it's been a few weeks, hopefully they'll settle down.

your eartheaters probably more stressed because it knows that TSN is going to eat him any time now....

from a piranha stand point.....leave your lights on all day (or put them on a timer) until they get used to them. personally, i prefer they act like that so it's a quick fix when they're roughhousing and nipping each other.

as for my experience. my rhom doesn't react to the lights at all. when i had shoal of reds, they did what your's do but i NEVER turned on my lights (i get direct sunlight into my tanks). black water extract can help

hahaha not yet, the TSN is only about 7-8" currently, he'll get moved once he's big enouch. It would be nice to go through a day without someone making a snarky catfish comment though.
