i got A TEN GALLON tank and want to use it to breed feeder fish for my australian arowana and my thai datnoids, how do i go about this and i dont want to spend to much money....please help (i am a noob)

One easy answer..... Convicts

easy yes, worth it not really. you will need feeder more often then the rate at which the fish are born and grown to a good size

yea i think youd have to have a more tahn a few ten gallons to be able to breed feeders, they would be gone alot faster than they reproduce ass soggys said in the earlier post, you have nice fish so why not give them food that will keep them that way grab hikari pellets or some kind of pellet it will be alot better for your montsters in the long run and cheaper too!

I woud get a 55 g and breed guppies :) This si the next best option compared to cons... Con breeding best done in more than ten gallons as well..

I myself am pondering breeding RD's or Midas. growth rate is faster :)

Growth rate is faster, but can you shake a bag of parents and have fry?No.CONS.The Amphilophus as feeders is a new one though.Have a feeling you will see too many you like and halt operations:):):):)

:D Now now .. I hope I could restrain from keeping too many :) at the same time some that haven't bred cons can find that just because they chake the bag .. they are not able to keep the fry.. that is a lot of fry for one ten gallon tank :)

If I do go Amphilophus I'll keep ya updated :) I just fed two the other day :) they were culls of course.. but not mine another local breeder.

why not be a baller and breed arows for feeders:eek: jk
breed cons for fast easy feeders, but they take a while to grow and you have to feed at the right time cause they develope spines that can cause them to get stuff in your fishes mouth, seen it happen before.
honestly it is best to just not use feeders

Breeding feeders is rarely worth your while. They just don't grow fast enough in most applications.
