How Effective is a 9w UV in a 29g

How effective is a 9w UV filter on a 29gal? The flow rate into the UV filter will be at about 200 gallons per hour. Is 200 gallons per hour too much?...flow rate can be turned down.

UV and planted tanks isn't a good mix. It can be done, but the plants will slow in growth, and their uptake of nutrients will be very slow.

i have a 9 watt on my 20 long planted i agree with wyld but the uv does a great job so its up 2 you ive heard diatom filters are perfect for what your looking for

BN Plecos and Otos do an amazing job in my 29g planted. The obliterated the diatoms in no time.
