Hi everyone, so I’ve decided that I need to cut my tap water with RO in order to keep the fish that I want. My ratio would be 40% RO + 60% tap.

My question is, how exactly should I add this to the tank? Should all the water be pre mixed and pumped into the tank in one go? Or can I have the measured amount of RO in a tub and pump it in the tank whilst at the same time filling the tank with a hosepipe from the tap? Thus mixing it on the fly. Obviously I would check my tap water parameters to make sure they haven’t shifted before filling direct to the tank.

Total tank size is 85 gallons and I would do a 50% weekly water change.

How do you guys do it? Any help and advice would be most appreciated! Thanks.
