Sigh, I was making my rounds and checking my tanks, when I noticed a nasty ich infestation in my 29g. I have three baby juruparis in there who have it the worse, along with some tetras. My zebra danios and loaches don't seem affected yet, but I immediately started medicating the tank. I really like my juruparis, but they seem pretty far along. I don't know how I didn't catch it before, but it seems like it hit pretty fast and hard. How far along is too far along?

First time I had Ich in a tank, my clown loaches were pretty covered with the white spots before I started treatment. I was a newbie, and that is why I started treatment too late. I lost all 3 loaches. I have no idea about your juruparis' toughness, but if you have a nasty infestation, I would not be suprised if you lose them.

I have gotten ich 3 more times since that first time. Everytime, I raised my temp. to about 85 or 86, and I added 4 tablespoons of aquarium salt for every 5 gallons. It worked like a charm every time.

Good Luck!

I never use meds for ich. Especially when it's in the beginning stages & never with scaleless fish. High heat, salt & large water changes, are all you need. Maybe add Melafix to clear up any wounds caused by the parasite.
