I'm wondering if there is any way to figure out how far a certain amount of bio max will get you? I mean I'm running two FX5s with a combined total of 3.5Kgs of biomax and I'm just wondering if I can stock the hell out of the tank now or if I should add one more box and a third FX5 with another 1.5-2kgs?

A lot of the biofiltration is in the substrate, plants, rocks, etc. Have you got other decor in the tank or will it be bare? Also, is this media seeded? If not, there will be no bacteria on it, so you can't "stock the hell out of it" until the colony gets established.

No decor it's a tiled tank. It's got 2 Kgs of seeded media now And I added 1.5Kgs today. so once that's seeded. I'm wondering how effective it Could be with say 10-12 12"+ fish.

tank size?

220 I think reguardless I'm going to add a third FX5. but I'm wondering what I can stock now I'm thinking I'll just keep checking my ammo as I add fish. I don't add fish often b/c I'm picky over what I stock and I think the most I'll add at any one time Is maybe 3 fish.
