how frequent do you feed your tigers?

I hate getting into this redundant debate but it's like you said in your post, the dat in that small tank is of that size due to it's age and it probably didn't stuff itself with prey items, when it was free, anywhere near the amount that you claim to feed your dat. Most dats we see pictured probably are not as old as that one is......or was, because it was probably eaten sometime after that photo was taken.I don't know how old your dat is but I think we can agree that dats take on a certain look when they get up in age, just look at some NTT.....Pellets are about the best thing to feed dats but variety does not hurt either.

DOES THAT TIGER HAVE THE EXACT SAME BODY SHAPE AS MINE YES OR NO

if it does have the same body shape them it just shows mine has the right body weight as a wild caught tiger of that size

How many wild caught tigers do you ever see of that size apart from that picture NOT MANY

that old picture just proves my point that most tigers are not getting the correct cals to maintain the right body weight as they would in the wild

How many people on this forum can claim to have owned one tiger for 8 years and have managed to feed it so it resemble a wild ST of near the same size as the one in that picture

I have give advice on how I managed to get a tiger that resembles a wild ST if people want to take that advice it's up to them or they can go about the way other people advice and hope they keep that same fish for a few years

I don't know why I bother some time all the boys can come with the flash exam results but a big part of that exam was the practical part

I think 8 years is a lot of practical don't you

I try to feed my daily but honestly some of them just aren't interested in eating everyday, so I feed them more like every other day until they can't eat anymore

Looks the same body shape as a wild ST to me and surely a wild body shape is how they are ment to look right

If someone could post the big ST in the small tank pic to show what I'm talking about that would be helpful thanks

And we should be aiming for as close to the wild look as poss were they have as much access to food as they need

Thats how my 8 inch IT looks like. He eats & eats. U can almost see the outline of all the mp pellets he eats on his stomach. Im afraid his stomach might explode.

I will post up a pic after my next feeding

i don't want to get in the middle of your argument but that is one fat and healthy looking fish. wow!!! not to mention the Arowana. he's no skinny minnie either!!!!!! obviously you do a great job growing your fish.
since we are all human and we all like to eat different stuff we assume that fish need the same. i think variety is important but i also think the people who make the pellets also know this and put the important nutrients in their foods. do some fish grow faster than others- yes. of my three kids one is a lot bigger than the others. would they be bigger if i had fed them Massivore? probably not cause it stinks and they wouldn't eat it!!!!! then again they don't eat worms either.
point is, feed good food, mix in different types if you want but from the pics above you don't have to.......

not that it matters but i feed mine daily, some days he eats more than others, and the babies get fed twice a day.

Hahahahha....no need to yell,if that was what you were trying to show with the caps.I was not arguing with you but merely expanding on the point of the dat's age which you mentioned first.

i think t1 is right on this one, pellets are definitely far superior, market prawn are very much like cotton wool in terms of nutrition

but his ST is like the shaquille oneal of ST's

I'm not saying I don't feed prawn I do as its a very good filler
If I fed pellets alone I would need to throw in min 3-4 big cup fills
I feed once per day a small plate of prawns 2 BIG cup fills of pellets and 20-30 giant meal worms to the aro
My fish get a good amount of veg from the hikari sinking cichlid good
Hikari make different foods for different fish the cichlid having a higher veg content as that's what cichlids like
If it was just one type of pellet people may have a point but it's the combination that is also good
