I was in a LFS that is ussually deadly expensive on saturday and the owner let me know of a deal on a 250G tank its a friend of his and he moved and is selling his tank through the LFS. its a 250G Glass tank on a metal stand built by a local welder. it has a wood fescade for the stand and a wooden canopy. there is a sump/refugeum that I don't know for certain if its included. its a 109G tank. there are 1200W of metal Halide lights that come with it. the tank has a center overflow and has 3 holes drilled in the bottom of it. they are asking $1200 for the setup. as I have not seen much for large tanks in my area its hard to know if its overpriced or not any comments

If everything goes with it I would say buy it you can always try to get the price lower (it doesn't hurt to ask) either way I think its a good deal Whats the LxWxH on this thing?

sounds ok, im not a fan of the centre overflow though, otherwise if everything else comes with the setup then go get it, your more or likely able to barter the price down even further. I wouldnt buy it though if the sump didnt come with it.

any more input? I'm not familiar with the lights all I have heard is they are primarily used in SW tanks. does this mean this tank is a SW setup. I wanted to do salt one day but wasnt planning on doing it for a couple years and wasnt planning on doing a 250G tank as my first kick at it. the back of the tank is painted black. it looks like it weighs a ton. I think it will be tough to find friends to help me move a second monster in a month LOL. any more thoughts on this would be appreciated

Sounds like a decent deal. Definately make sure everything listed comes with it. The metal halide are usually for sw, high intensity light for coral, and are pretty expensive. You can always resell or see if he will keep the lights and lower the price. You can still use the tank for fw, just clean well before using.
