I spent the whole day searching for a tank to buy. I went to three different places, the first one offered me a all glass aquarium (180) for $1100. the second one tried to sell me a 160 gallons for $750, now my question is .............does anyone knows of a Tank brand called otherocean or Ocean other? I ask that because that 160 g tank is not made by All-glass-aquarium and I dont know how good it is.

never heard of the brand, but odds are its an acrylic tank. whether acrylic or glass is better seems to depend on who you ask, i like glass better. just look online and come to a conclusion yourself

it looks like u only said just the tank acrylic or glass thats waywayway over priced.

if its a combo of sum sort a whole other thing then

Howdy,

Maybe you mean Oceanic? To my knowledge, they manufacture mostly glass aquariums. However, they tend to be more pricy than Allglass.

I now starting to think that its an oceanic that I saw, I think it is a arclic tank because the front corns were perfectly curve. It comes with a stand( cant tell whether or not is a gud stand) and it comes with the hood. hopefully I get paid on friday so I can see if I purchase that tank or the one on another store (180 for 1100)

Oceanic is the "top of the line" devision of All-Glass, they use perfectly cut (no chips) pieces of glass and they flame the edges, giving them a nice smooth look. All in all, they just look a little better, nothing more (except the bracing). But they call for a high price, but the quality/durability is the same of the medium range "All-Glass" line.

If I remember right All-Glass also sells a value line called Ocean View or something like that.

If nothing has changed, perfecto has a 10 year waranty, unlike all-glass which has a 1 year, and I think oceanic has a 5 year waranty.

From another forum
Oceanic is owned by all-glass.

Oceanic tanks is the high end line. They will come with better silicone job, a different type of bracing (usually a clear cross brace also) and the overflow boxes are a black acrylic box.

However, they both have excellent warranties, and will last indefinatly if setup on a proper stand.
