I am toying with they idea of building a massive tank instead of buying one.

My problem is that I am not particularly handy and neither is my bf who would be the one helping.

Size I'm thinking of is about 2.5m-3m in length, 70cm in height and roughly 60-70 in width.

I'm not too worried about building the stand, but in terms of the tank itself, honestly how hard is it to do? Is it better to go to a glass specialist and having them do it? Or is it easier than it seems?

because im fairly useless too lol id go to a glass specialist, that way u will prob have a garuantee so IF it goes wrong u cn get ur money back, whereas the amount u will b spending to do it urself u have nothing if it goes pear shape. plus the specialists will know how to do it lol

It'd depend on how confident you are to build it. The hardest part would be to get it square, which if you take the time, it is fairly easy.. You'd also have to make sure the thickness of the glass would be able to hold the pressure of the water. You might want to have a look into acrylic 8)

Thanks very both of you...

I'll have a look into both options...
If I do go forward with it then I think I will end up going to the glass specialist first, I think with two left hands that might be the best option.

No worries, 8)

I would recommend having it built. You don't want to constantly be worried about your tank failing :(
I know if I built a tank, I would be worried.
