i just got a large tank and it's cycling now but i dont like looking at the bare tank. can i put a bunch of clown loaches in there to help with cycling? how hardy are loaches? tank has an established filter in it so i dont think it'll take that long to cycle.

I do not suggest that you use loaches to cycle a tank. Being scaleless, they are more prone to ick and sensative to ph swings. If you are going community, larger barbs or tetras would work. If cichlids are what you want, convicts or jewels are good choices of inexpensive, hardy fish.

I would agree. Get some danios to cycle it.

who cares about getting cool fish to cycle, just get some feeders. if they don't live, you only wasted about a dollar

Discus or some Rays....

Just kidding. Loaches are far to expensive for a cycling fish.

Why not ask your shop or friend for an established filter media to instantly cycle your tank?

Giant Danios are awesome cycling fish.

Might even be cycled already. Go to a LFS they can get you started. Just buy a fish. I mean everyone is so oh you have to cycle your tank blah blah blah. It's really easy to do.
