I want to teporarily put my aro, gars, pbass, dats, etc in my pond soon. The pond cannot be fully covered... I know aros can jump and I learned the hard way with my tigerfish and polypterus. The wall will be about....20" high of a jump. My 12" endli cleared my one pond with like a 12" edge. Do you guys think these fish will clear the walls?

Im afraid it cant be done with the arowana. I had 7 inch aro jump over a rubbermaid tub that was only 2-3 inches full of water . I thought the small aro wouldnt be able to clear it. Needless to say, it was dead when somebody saw it.

hell yea!

pbass and dats, not sure, never seen them jump. Aros and gars, no way - they could be straight over that wall. They can clear 20" easily.

Here's a picture that a Japanese customer of mine took when I was trying to sell them some real estate.. the party was going pretty good until I accidentally stumbled and knocked the Margarita blender into the pond. Needless to say the deal fell through but I did manage to sell the fish to the local sushi bar.
Anyway, it's a good example of how high they can jump (fish, I mean-- not Japanese people). You might want a higher barrier and keep all electrical appliances away from your pond.

Just buy a big clear painters tarp to put over it. It will be clear so the pond will still got plenty of light. Just cut out a section where the water flows in.
