Hello--

We've been having a heat wave in So Cal and I'm concerned about how hot it gets in my house--and more importantly in my tank.

I have a thermometer and the high end of he 'green zone' is 80F, but it's been climbing higher than that and I was wondering at what temp should I get concerned and take evasive action? :chillpill:

Thanks,

depends on the fish and if they can take the heat
i no my oscars and others have been up in 88 with out a problem
just look at your fish they will give sign
:help2:<<<<<<kind of like that haha

80-85* is just fine for africans, just remember that in high heat there is less oxygen in the water if it gets above 85* you might want to add some aeration to the tank.

At my old house I put tanks out on the screened in porch in the summer for growouts, one day I thought the water felt a little hot so I used a temp prob and the temp 90* and they were fine but I had a lot of water movement in that tank.
