This is really how I oscar proofed my 75 gallon but I figured it would work for any fish. First off I love the look of densely planted tanks, and I knew from experience my oscar (and many other species) loves to move things around and rip my artificial plants to shreds. So I took all my artificial plants and a hot glue gun and put a little dab of hot glue on each joint where the plants are assembled. Now that takes care of him ripping them apart and having parts of artificial plants floating all around my tank. As with most fish my oscar would also pull plants right out of the sand and move them around so to fix this problem I got out my trusty hot glue gun again and got some old cd cases. I took and glued plants to the cd cases in hopes that after the cases were under the substrate the added surface area would be too much for the fish to be able to lift out of the sand, and so far it has worked. I just thought I would share some ideas with you guys as I know a lot of people get frustrated when their fish decides he is rearranging the tank as he sees fit.

are sure hot glue is fish safe? i would prob use silicon aquarium sealant

Yes it's fish safe, DIY koi ponder's use it all the time.

lol the only symptom they get from me is misunderstood or pissed off :)

lol duct tape is for the technologically impaired. I actually received a Platnium man card for my creative use of hot glue.

lol thanks for the replies guys. and duct tape and hot glue have their place! i mean when the wife is nagging duct tape is a better alternative then hot glue!
