How did this Aro get BLUE?

Also... what is the yellow diamond on his head??

might be the same way albino oscars become blue berry oscars. inject them with dye.

i'm telling you man, he looks odd. His scales look rough, and his whole demeanor is jagged. Don't know how else to put it

Interesting.....maybe it's a different strain????? Although he may have been dyed!

He is a mean little guy. all 3 pcs had War wounds on their body. The scales that were damaged, were a Dark blue. They also had fins torn. The vendor went to get fish and the whole seller had (suppos) a grip of baby Aros that were W/C and had these 3pcs in a seperate tank and said they came in like that. He didnt know what to call them or sell them as. Any how... I went in at the right time and scooped him up for a HELL-A-HIGH price but it is just the "What if..." type of buy. As for color, there is no reg silver aro on him and it confuses me cause if it were injected I would assume the fins would also have some blue... but they dont (maybe at this size I cant tell but the biggest one looked exactly the same).
Oh well... time will tell:D

I dont know what to think??? Dyed or not, where I got him from, I have a lot of trust in him and I highly doubt he sold me a known injected fish (not saying it isint but saying he doesnt know if it is)

Thanks guys

One more question.
If a fish is injected... if scales are missing when they grow back do they get the normal color scale or the new injected color?

my silver looks pretty close to that but hes not dyed, hes just that colour, but he also has a lot of orange in his scales too

How long have you had him for?

couple months, but he was never as blue as the one in the picture, but he is close.

I have 10 silvers. They look real different intially. Some with more bluish body shine and with yellowish finnages. But eventually all grow up looking the same.:)

You just can't accept it , can you Big Dogg? May not be the dye, but the ick medicine, which people usually use to treat freshly import fish, will give the blue color. You add a drop into your glass tank, and the silicone will be blue for months, if not years
