How LB gravel for Stingray

Personally I wouldnt put a ray on gravel, sand or bare bottom. Either way if you want a good layer I would say 250-300lbs. I have 200lbs of sand in my 2'x6' which is 12 square feet, yours is 16 square feet. The 200lbs of sand in mine has given me about a 3" thick layer of sand.
Caribsea makes good substrate, I am using the Super Natural Torpedo Beach. Haven't heard anything about a max sand thickness for rays, haven't seen any issues.
I use about 40lb of Peace River in my 320 gal 8'x3' tank.
It's not too deep and there are regularly bare spots but unless you have inches of substrate, you're almost always going to get bare spots in a ray tank.
I prefer less substrate as it's less place for crud to accumulate, this just gives them something to sift through and hide under on that rare occasion.
