How legitimate is this DIY co2 setup?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
considering its a product from China, not sure if its worth that much... or how well it will actually work...

I personally will try and steer clear of aquarium products that are made for the China market... just don't really trust them all that much...

not sure if the soda will react with the vinegar or how well

how will the vinegar get in if they are level

what size tank do you have this might not be big enough

Why dont you just make your own DIY? its fairly simple. Just need 1 or two soda bottles sugar, baking soda, and yeast. Literally took and hour to drill the whole, mix the ingredients, and seal the bottle.

Google it and save yourself some money. Plus products from there are low quality.

Mixing vinegar with baking soda would produce CO2. My question would be how do you maintain the pressure without constantly pumping the contraption by hand?

it uses yeast and a sugar water mixture. it is very unreliable and you have to constantly monitor and resupply the yeast and sugar. you are better off buying a 5lbs co2 tank and a proper tank pressure regulator.

ditto. You can also use Seachem Flourish Excel.

But if you do waste some money on that please let us know.

wow, that is some expensive stuff, you could do all that for like 5 dollars on your own, total scam
