i recently moved my armatus in a 75gal tank due to it constantly bullying its coinhabitants. He's around 13"-14" right now and its been a week since he last ate. Probably because of the tank being to small? Thats why he's not eating? Im not sure though. He was in a 6x4x2ft tank before. I have a spare pond for him to transfer to but im still waiting for the person that will get the inhabitants of the pond. He'll probably get it in the next day or 2. My question is how long can the armatus not eat? Because im starting to worry that he might starve to death :( he is off live trained btw. Thanks!

I'm not sure exactly how long an armatus can go without eating but most fish can go for quite a few weeks without eating anything and your fish, given it's size should have quite a bit of bulk to burn off before it starts to waste away....a mere week of not eating is nothing to a fish.
In my experience large armatus do not take kindly to being moved and going on hunger strikes is one of the ways in which they express their displeasure at being disturbed.I wouldn't worry too much about it as it should start eating again soon.
Hey tlindsey, thanks for the shout out!
