How long before he settles in?

As some of you may remember, I added a new RBP to my shoal. At first he was nipping at my other two piranha and I thought that was perfectly normal, but it's been atleast a week or 2 possibly more and he is still atacking my other piranhas to the point where my little one jason is affraid to eat the pellets when I feed them because of my new piranha attacking him. How much longer before he stops assaulting my other two piranha?

He may not stop until he is the only one in the tank, this happens every now and then when you get a P that doesn't play nice with others. You may have to re-home him and find a new one that works with yours. Then again they may be fine if you rearrange your tank or upgrade to a larger tank.

Do you have any or lots of plants?I would pull all 3 out n put in buckets for a good half hour. Rearrange your tank n maybe add some more plants.the more plants the calmer the rbp. In my experiences anyhow. GL

I was about to ask if you rearranged to reset established territories when you added the new one to the existing 2. Re aquascaping should help. Did you buy the new red as a loner or was it in a tank with other Ps?

I had 2 in a tank an added 3 more yesterday. There just little guys but they stopped fighting in a day. I also added more plants when they were added. They seem happy togather now. Except when they are going after same peice of food. They were all from the same store out of the same tank. Maybe they know eachother lol.

No my tank is rather sparse when it comes to plants :/ The new one was in a shoal of like 15 at the LFS but it was one of the small ones and it looks like he's older but the same size

I have mine divided right now. 5 4'' rbp and 1 8'' rbp. They seem to want to interact...there has been no attacks through the divider...How big of a size difference? Just curious.
