As of 5 hours ago I had a roughly 2" Albino Sen living in a breeding net in my Poly tank. I bought it yesterday.

I got home about a half hour ago and noticed it was missing. I fed pretty heavily yesterday, sliversides and sinking carnivore pellets. I'm guessing either the ~7" Endli or the ~7" Sen ate it. The Sen is fat enough that i wouldn't be able to tell, and the Endli could still be bulked up from yesterday's food.

However, it could also have somehow gotten out of the tank. I know they can live awhile out of water, but I have no idea how long it was out if that is the case. Plus I have a cat that will play with small live fish/shrimp that have jumped but never eats them, or even manages to kill them.

If it's out, it's been out for at least a half hour or so. So how much longer should I spend looking in case it didn't get eaten and is instead somewhere on the floor?

Well, I'm going back to looking. Wish me luck!

I have searched darn near everywhere and have not found it. The only place I couldn't check is behind the stand, because I'd have to move the whole tank to do that. I did run a yardstick along the back and looked as best I could with a flashlight.

I'll probably do another pass and see if I may have missed any possibilities, but it looks like the Endli got a $15 meal. It's my fault for not having a grow out tank sitting around, or even bothering to improvise one. Live and learn.

The bigger Polys are moving to a bigger tank literally today or tomorrow too. I'm kind of annoyed right now. C'est la vie. Bad timing, bad luck, bad planning.

I'm still quite fond of the Endli though. Going to be sad when I have to give it up.

ya i bet ur endli at it. Bichirs are dang greedy creatures sometime!

Shame bud,why have you got to get rid of the endli by the way?

I got it when it was tiny and in my ignorance thought it was a Del. It's going to outgrow the tank I'm dedicating to the smaller Poly's. Once it hits 10-12 inches, It's getting sold/traded/whatever to forum member redmach1pilot.

Ok,what size tank will you have for the smaller bichirs as they will grow to 11" 12" too?

40 breeder will hold (so far):
1 Retropinnis
1 Senegalas
1 Senegalas Long Fin
1 Palmas Polli
1 Endli (until it gets too big)

I plan to grow out (or acquire big enough to not be food) and add a Delhezi, an Albino Sen, a Mokelembembe, a Palmas Palmas, and a Palmas Buettikoferi.

Luckily the stand for my 40 breeder has room for another 40 breeder on the bottom.
