It usually takes about 7-8 days from when they are laid to when they are free swimming.

Thanks I'll bee on the lookout. Is there anything I should do in caring for the fry, besides feeding them ground up flake food?

You shouldn't have to do much, in my big tank I rarely feed fry, and they do just fine eating scraps lol. Crushed flakes or baby brine shrimp will work great.

why are you breeding convicts any how??

Well I had extra 20 gal tank and was told that they were easy to breed and alot of people use them for feeders, so I thought i would give it a shot. My Jag is watching from across the room and I can tell he can't wait hehe:naughty:.

well, idk about you, but my archocentrus multispinosus just gobbled up the wrigglers right after they hatch, so maybe you should pull the eggs or take out the parents if you want to ensure all your fry don't get eaten. They probably won't but just in case, so you don't have to wait another month or so like I do.
