How long can a baby channel stay in a 55g?

I was thinking about getting a 3-4" channel from the lfs and was wondering how long it would take him to out grow a 55g. i want to grow him out with my baby bass. He would evenually go into a tank 300g or more

u could keep him in there intill he about 10".

3-4 months maybe. figure an inch + a month.

Do you have the 300g setup?

nope i don't eve have it yet, i do have a 200g setup tho

you probably have 6 months tops- they are easy fish to get hold of so get the set up first and pick the fish up when you are ready. Also the first one i had got to 24in in the blink of an eye and then i had compatibility issues in my 300gal so i would say go bigger if possible.

well thats a good question to ask because i got one by accidend a couple of months back and he was about 2 cm
now he is about 3 -4 inches long crazy
id say you have 6 month to a year
i have had a few in the past i had to give to a buddy because they got big and mean.....but were still fun to raise
