How Long Can A O Survive Without Food

Well my oscar at the moment is going on a hunger strike and will not eat any non-frozen foods eg pellets. I just keeping seeing if he eats any and he has'nt for 3 days now so what should i do and how long can he survive this?.

too many thing to factor in: temp, size, bulk, etc. I have had fish go a month without food.

How big is he? If he is full grown then atleast 10 days but a juvi 6 or so. Every day(3x a day) just add pelets. What are his tank mates 2.

He is 22cm across and 12 cm down

His temp is 26

He has no tank mates

It can go several weeks easily without adverse effects.

Don't keep adding a ton of pellets, unless you are going to remove them when he doesn't eat. What have you been feeding him? try not to feed so much frozen food once he starts on pellets again.

Like the others have said, large fish can last a long time without food.

I always remove the pellets after and thanks everyone for your help i will keep you updated and the pellets i feed him are Hikari gold.
