how long can a ray go without food

i have to leave my fish for about two weeks . there is nobody to do water changes and nobody to feed . im thinking they will be ok but thought i would ask all the same.

tank is 6'L x 2'H x 2.5'W

there are 3 fx5's running and three large rays in the tank. one is about 18" the other two are around 13"

Have gone beyond a month not feeding rays that are under 8" disc, so 2 weeks should be no problem. I'm too too sure on the water changes though.

Depending on size but I've had a healthy weight adult ray quit eating (still have no idea why) and it took around 3 months before it died.

I wouldnt iam in leeds give me ye keys lol . Can u not get anybody to even look in and make sure the fx5s are working . Anything can happen in 2 weeks

whenever i'm going to be gone on vacation i just buy a handful of feeders and some ghost shrimp and leave it in the tank for them to eat when they get hungry ...

I've left for over two weeks and have come home with no issues. On the other and, I left for four days, had my neighbor feed my rays (as she had done previously several times), came home and all three of my rays in that tank were dead. Needless to say I've never asked her to watch my fish again. Point is, unless you have someone who is at least close to a professional with rays watch and care for them, I'd take my chances on fattening them up before I leave, throwing in a bunch of ghost shrimp, and enjoying my vacation.

i went away for 3 weeks and had a mate come every 3 days and feed the rays in bags ive prepared(so he couldnt over feed them)

Rays were doing okay when i got back, needed a water change BADLY tho.

other than that 3 daily W/C in a row. got them back to normal and my rio's even spawned after that.

Def. send someone over 2 check atleast 2 or three times while your gone. i had alot of crazy **** happen when i was in college and would leave my tanks for thanksgiving and christmas. 1st distaster my cat uplugged the powerstrip on a tank killing everything but a pleco, smelled horrible when i returned. 2nd disaster was a 18'' tiretrack getting stuck in the plumbing of a drilled tank causing it to overflow all over carpet onto the surge protector frying it! and killing power of everything! Somehow all my other fish were alive with out air or waterflow. terrible day!
