How long can a wolf fish(hoplias malabraicus) go without food? 7 days?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How big. Once a foot they go on months of fasting sometimes ime. 7 days will be fine the only thing is there might be an increase in aggression.

3rd week of cycling a 125 for its new home. Still zero nitrates so it's not ready.
Oh you've got it already lol that's fine then. I'm the long run, if you keep the fish for its life, after about 4 years maybe less depending on the specimen you're gonna need 2' width to comfortably house it. But that's generally far down the road they usually slow at a foot

Thx good to know. If I have it long term I'll certainly get a larger tank. By the way quick question what do you feed your wolf fish? Mine would only eat hikari frozen krill. Finally today I got it to eat a frozen bloodwork cube after starving it for 2 days. I tried carnivore pellets before but no luck.

Wolves aren't picky ime. But I have noticed they'll pick favorites. Carnivore pellets shrimp pellets, floating cichlid pellets when young is what I feed once, or worms. As they grow I do freeze dried shrimp and krill, once in a while I take raw shrimp when my sister cooks to feed, then massivore for sinking pellets. I've fed aro sticks in the past as well. Not picky fish at all. If they'll come to the top for food take advantage cause it's great. Don't want to make them lazy.

Cool I'll probably try some of those foods. My wolf is extremely active. Fun fun so far
