I have my 10 gallon tank in my dorm, with the 4 black skirt tetras, and my one crayfish in it. For Thanksgiving break they are closing the dorm on Wednesday at noon, and open them again on noon Sunday. Is it possible to leave them for these 3 days un-feed, or should I bring them home? If I bring them home I would temporarily put them in my 29 gallon with the 4 german rams about 2 inches, 2 firemouths about 2 inches, and my channel cat about 6 inches which is slowly eating off my tiger barbs, went from 6 of them to 2.

So, should I leave them be, or do I bring them and transfer them, if I could get some help soon, because if I bring them I have to do it tomorrow afternoon because of work on Wednesday.

I would ditch the crayfish and then you might be ok for quite a while. The crayfish might get hungry and chomp on those little guys.

DITCH MY CRAY!!!! I love my little buddy, should I just move my cray to my tank at home and leave the fish in the dorm?

I would say you're best bet is to leave themin the tank and go to wal mart or k mart or whatever and get yourself a seven day fish feeder. they usually look like a big clump of clay.

Haha, Im not that worried about loosing any fish, I suppose "Fish_are_'cray'fishfood" as well. The thing with the 7 day feeder, will the cray just eat all of it, or is it alright if the cray eats those?

The food is inside of the clay and as the clay disapates the food is released. He could possibly be able to get through the clay though. you might want to talk to someone at your lfs and see what they say.

I got a cheapo 15$ auto feeder for my little trips like that. I like the kind with separate chambers for each feeding so that it doesn't dump too much food.

Just leave them,3 days is nothing,If it was closer to 2 weeks,an electric feeder is a good idea.
Dont use the weekend food block thing its not worth the risk of clouding and fouling your tank while youre not there
