Thats been a while is he the only fish in the tank? If so then throw some dither fish in their so it won't hide so much and gets him use to the tank so he can hopefully start eating, i had the same problem when i first got my JD actually till this day if i seperate him from my texas and nicaraguense he wont eat at all and my tex and nic wont either, which is why i have no choice but to stuff him and his mate with them in the 60 gallon. They also seem to enjoy each others copany also and rarely fights.

thanks he was in a tank with two 10 in plus pacus so ill try and add some fish and what do you mean dither fish
dither fishes are fishes that the JD would chase around and try to fight its only to get the JD out and get him more active so throw in some convicts and see if he'll come out to chase them. convicts make great dithers because they are cheap and fast so they wont get caught and killed.

a 9" JD could go two weeks without eating with absolutely no ill results... probably well over a month before he dies...
