just curious, how long can rays last without aeration? Reason i’m
Asking is we had a power outage at 4:30 am last night. And i went down ti stir my tanks to make sure they have air. Bad thing is all my battery operated pumps were not working anymore.

Power was restored at 5:30 am.

I bought some new battery pumps now, just curious if they can survive 1-2 hours without aeration?

It's really not air you need to be worried about, it's ammonia from lack of biological filtration that is your #1 concern. Large water volume will determine how long you have before there is an issue. I've transported rays 5+ hours in a plastic tote with no problem, so I'm pretty sure your rays will be fine for one hour. I'd bet your rays would be fine for 24 hours or more if you have a big tank that's not overstocked.

Thanks!! I usually wake up when power outages occur during nught time, but was thinking if i can afford to sleep 1-2 hours more and add aeration to the tank in the morning instead of waking up, or i dont wake up diring power outage if they can last a few hours.

So far i have 2 12 inch rays in my 350 gallon tank with an arowana.

And another 2 smaller 7-8 inch rays in 120 gallon tank by themselves
