I am trying to introduce my commom 10 inch pleco cucumbers and wondering how long can you leave in tank before it starts to cause problems or will it?

I would like to know the answer as well. Mine take a while and usually only come to it at night. I cut them lengthways since everyone seems to nibble them. I have left them in for a full day. (by then they are just the skins floating around lol)

It depends on the veg. Softer stuff will go mushy faster and the harder stuff will keep its integrity. Cucumber, courgette and fruits are ok for a day or so. Carrots, sweet potato, broccoli are good a couple of days. There are no strict rules, but theres no point having food left in there that isnt being eaten.

Agreed. I leave my fruits/veggies in overnight and pull out whats left in the morn. I also try to feed them just before my scheduled water change.

i leave over night.. after giving the veggies to them in the evening..after that pretty water logged... not very appetizing .. and probably won't be touched ..

No longer than 24 hours for sure. I also like the over nite ritual. Never seen a common that wouldn't go for cucumbers.

I do slightly longer but that depends on the food..

Cucumbers usually 24 hours.. same with zucchini.. but for potato I do 2 days.. and thats max.. potato goes bad any longer...

sometimes there are food that are not eaten and will take days to eat.. usually this means its a new type of food introduced OR the pleco just had a previous feeding cycle and its not too hungry for it..

My baby bristlenose plecos and otos seem to like cucumber after 24 hours in the tank. As does my green phantom, that I'm having problems getting to eat.

I leave mine in overnight. Once the clowns are done with the middle, my plecos go after the brine
