I can get a 120 cheap and was wondering how long a 3-4 inch retic ray could live in it before it outgrows it on average?

i would do some research before buying a retic. i think the general odds will be that it may die before outgrowing a 120. not trying to sound rude at all, but on here there are so many stories of them dying. enough with that death stuff. what are your dimensions and if the ray is a male, it will last longer in thattank than a female

I had 2 in a 120 for 2 years with a fairly large assortment of community fish with them.....I knew when I got them that I would be getting a bigger tank in my new house and I did. They are now in a 450 gallon. But even after 2 years they still didn't outgrow the 120 they were near the 8-9 inch disk size at that time and I was miticulous on water changes of 25% every other day. So the bigger question is how good are you at keeping pristine water?

I'm not bad at keeping pristine water. I could do the water changes and maybe even set up a drip system of some sort.
