How long did it take for your common to get big?

I have had my common pleco for about 2 years now, he was in a 55g for 18 months and now is in a 300. He is only 6-7 inches and I thought he would be much bigger by now.

He eats fine and as far as I can tell he is in good health. How long did it take your pleco to get big?
 
each grows differently from what i understand
 
mine was in a 60 gal for a bit over a year he was 2.5 when i got him, his growth seemed to slow down around 7 inch about 3 months later i upgraded him into a 125 and he then blew up to about 12 inch within 3 months, shortly after he passed due to cichlid aggression :(
 
not in san diego but if you come down to the orang county area check out the reef fish shop in fullerton they have several large ones going for fair prices i saw one last time about 15"+ for under $40
 
Darn if you were in Michigan I would give you one I have many at several sizes. By the way any good aquarium shops in San Diego? I will be visiting my daughter soon and was wondering how the shops were. My hotel will be by Balboa Park.
 
I have a common and bought him 10 months ago. He was about 1 1/2" then. Now he is 8". He eats everything in sight. Loves brussel sprouts and zucchini. If you want him out of his cave just sprinkle some Wardley shrimp pellets and he will be out in seconds! Maybe I should put him on a diet :) Spends most of his time chasing my 4" royal out of his cave.
