I would love to know, how long did it take you to setup your tank? Do you have a miracle story or horror story of getting your tank built or setup?
Our first tank setup, building the stand and canopy and plumbing the sump, took 9 months. Mostly this was because I required my husband's welding and plumbing skills and he isn't into aquariums at all, was dead set against the idea of a 200 gallon monstrosity. I bribed and rewarded him every tiny step of the way lol. I did help though. I payed for everything, did all the sanding, painting and picked up all supplies- metal, wood, plumbing parts, etc. I can't count how many times I went to floyds, home depot and lowes. I also stood by him the whole time assisting him pushing pvc together, screwing, taking measurements, handing him tools, clamping, etc.
The cool thing is that he loves the tank, brags to his friends, posted pics on insta and brings all his friends by to show it off.
So we picked up our second tank on the 5th. Wow did it take a lot of convincing to enlist his help and I'm so grateful he was game. Even though it was fully setup when purchased, nothing has been done on it except me cleaning it. My husband has no desire to work on it so me and our overcrowded fish will just have to be patient.
